A Maria Picoito fez um Training Course “The Pot of Gold”, em Itália. Esta é a partilha da sua experiência!
A minha experiência no Training Course “The Pot of Gold” foi (e continua a ser) bastante positiva. Os participantes significaram para mim diversidade. Eram não só provenientes de diferentes países como também com diferentes experiências a nível profissional, bem como diferentes “graus” de envolvimento nas causas de defesa da igualdade de género e da comunidade LGBT. A única coisa que todos tínhamos em comum (participantes e facilitadores) era uma disponibilidade enorme, desde o momento 0, para nos envolvermos na experiência que nos foi proposta e isso foi o que senti como mais significativo e determinante. Entendo que foi precisamente o ambiente gerado entre os participantes e os facilitadores que permitiu todas as aprendizagens e a forma como a formação aconteceu. Em termos técnicos tive oportunidade de observar, sentir, operacionalizar e pensar dinâmicas várias, sempre participativas, que incluíram o role playing, grupos de discussão, grupos de reflexão, exposições individuais de temas, dinamização de workshops por grupos de participantes, entre outras. Todas elas me permitiram uma aprendizagem transversal no que toca a dinamização de grupos e utilização de ferramentas e uma aprendizagem mais factual e específica, directamente relacionada com os temas da formação.
Mais concretamente conheci opiniões e descrições das realidades de diferentes países no que se refere a direitos humanos, crimes de ódio, discriminação e igualdade de oportunidades, para além de conceitos e definições relacionados com os temas base. Por outro lado o tipo de metodologia base e as técnica específicas permitiram-me desenvolver o auto-conhecimento, ultrapassar limites e definir outros tantos limites pessoais. Por isso, venho de bagagem cheia! Cheia de novos conhecimentos, de contactos de pessoas e de organizações, de reforçada confiança no meu papel enquanto agente de mudança, de projectos, desafios e ideias, de novas questões, e, não cheia, mas a transbordar de sentimentos pelas pessoas com quem tive o privilégio de trabalhar estes 9 dias. Ultrapassou largamente as minhas expectativas. De tal modo que três semanas volvidas após o regresso continuo a digerir, a questionar e a analisar o que vivemos. O que vejo como positivo, o que poderia ser melhorado, quer ao nível da minha participação, quer ao nível da organização da formação e das técnicas utilizadas. E isso é a cereja no topo do bolo. Significa intensidade, significa profundidade, significa que entranhou. Há uns anos um dos melhores professores que tive proferia afirmações nos nossos encontros que ninguém percebia no momento…muitos de nós demoramos anos a clarificar o significado de algumas delas. Isso não constituiu qualquer problema (nem para o próprio autor sequer). Antes pelo contrário. Significa que dura mais tempo, que evolui, que levamos connosco e que o tornamos nosso. My experience in the training course “The Pot of Gold” was (and still is) fairly positive. Diversity was what the participants meant for me. They came not only from different countries but also had different professional experiences as well as different degrees of involvement in activism for gender equality and LGBT issues. The only thing we all had in common (participants and facilitators) was an immense availability, from the moment 0, to get involved in the experience proposed to us and that was very meaningful and determinant for me. I believe it was exactly the positive environment created between participants and facilitators that allowed all the learning happening in the training. In more technical terms, I had the opportunity to observe, feel, operationalise and reflect on various dynamics, always participative, including role play, discussion groups, reflection groups, individual presentation of topics, workshops done by other participants, among others. All of them provided me with a transversal learning opportunity regarding facilitation of groups with non-formal tools and also a more concrete knowledge on topics, related to the theme of the training course.
To be more specific, I came to know opinions and descriptions on different realities in other countries regarding human rights, hate crimes, discrimination and (un)equal opportunities, and also concepts and definitions regarding the field in hands. Likewise, the methodology used and the specific activities allowed us to develop self-knowledge, go beyond some limits and redefine other limits. I came full of new knowledge, of contacts of people and organisations, of renewed trust in my role as an actor of change, of projects, challenges and ideas, new questions and overflowing of feelings for these people with whom I had the privilege of working for nine days. It largely exceeded my expectations. In such a way that three weeks after I come back I’m still digesting, questioning and analysing what we lived. What I see as positive, what could be improved, in my participation, in the organisation of the TC and on the methodologies used. And that is the cherry on top of the cake! It means intensity, depth, it means it stuck within. Some years ago, one of the best teachers I ever had, used to utter sentences in our meetings than no one understood… many of us took years to clarify what he meant with some of those sentences. This is not a problem (not even for the author). Quite the contrary. It means it lasts longer, it evolves, it means we take it with us and we make it ours. So was and will be this experience!
