A Vânia é de Portugal e realizou SVE em Itália. Esta é a partilha da sua experiência!
PT: O meu nome é Vânia, tenho 30 anos e estive em Roma dois meses, onde participei num projeto de Serviço Voluntário Europeu de curta duração.
O meu projeto foi na área da ação educativa, nomeadamente estive em dois centros juvenis, onde jovens de 11 a 18 anos podem ir depois da escola e obtém ajuda a fazer os trabalhos de casa e fazem atividades extracurriculares, como desporto, desenho e horta.
Este projeto específico foi particularmente relevante para mim, porque não tenho nenhum curso na área da educação e esta foi uma ótima maneira de ter um contato direto com o mercado de trabalho desta área. Permitiu-me também explorar possibilidades práticas que posso seguir neste ramo profissional. Este era o meu objetivo principal e foi alcançado com bastante sucesso.
Claro que houve outras mais valias, como por exemplo relativamente ao alojamento, onde estive hospedada em casa duma senhora italiana, o que permitiu estar mais em contacto com a cultura e os hábitos dos locais. Para além disso, tive a oportunidade de conviver com outros voluntários europeus (Portugal, Espanha, França, Alemanha, Inglaterra) que estavam a fazer um projeto semelhante ao meu.
É sempre positivo ter uma experiência que nos permita sair da rotina e este tipo de projetos ajuda-nos também não apenas a conhecer pessoas novas, como a desenvolver a nossa rede de contactos, que muitas vezes se traduz numa cooperação conjunta futura.
ENG: My name is Vania, I am 30 years old and I stayed in Rome for 2 months, where I joined a short term European Voluntary Service project.
My project was in the field of youth education, namely I worked in two youth centers, where youngsters from 11 to 18 years old can go after school and where they get support with their homework and do extracurricular activities, like sports, drawing and gardening.
This specific project was particularly relevant to me as I don’t have any studies in the educational field and this was a great way to have a direct contact with the labour market in this area. It also allowed me to explore practical possibilities which I might follow in this professional field. This was my main goal and it was successfully achieved.
There were also other positive factors, like with my lodging. I was hosted by an italian lady, which allowed me to be in closer contact with the local culture and habits. Besides that I also had the opportunity to be around other european volunteers (Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, England) which were taking part in a project similar to mine.
It is always positive to have an experience that allows us to change our routine and this kind of projects helps us not only to get to know new people but also to develop our contacts network, which many times follows future cooperations.
